Donbass becomes a "frozen conflict" - Kuchma

The situation in the Donbass becomes a "frozen conflict". This opinion was expressed by the representative of Ukraine in the Trilateral Contact Group on the settlement of the Donbass situation, the second president of Ukraine Leonid Kuchma on Wednesday, - Interfax-Ukraina reports.

"Today, on the expanse of the former Soviet Union, a new frozen conflict appears, and Russia has no desire to solve it", - Kuchma said.

According to him, the situation is complicated by the large extent of the border with the Russian Federation.

"The working group (on border issues - Ed.), is, of course, needed to discuss this issue, but there are no mechanisms how to transfer this border: we cannot put our border guards there, so I'm talking about the peacekeeping force, so that at least the OSCE was allowed there", - he added.
