The Security Service of Ukraine is conducting searches at the offices of Yandex in Kyiv and Odessa. Olena Hitlyanska, the press officer of the service, reported that on her Facebook page.
“SBU do conduct searches in the offices of the Russian Yandex’s subsidiaries in Kyiv and Odesa", - Hitlyanska wrote, confirming the information spread by the media.
The SBU also added that the search is conducted under Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – high treason.
As reported earlier, on May 16, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko signed a decree greenlighting a new set of sanctions against Russia, which include blocking access to Russian-based social networks VKontakte and Odnoklassniki, as well as Yandex online services.
