Rada established 75% of the quota of the Ukrainian language on television

The Verkhovna Rada adopted draft law 5313 "On Amending Certain Laws of Ukraine on the Language of Audiovisual (Electronic) Mass Media", - OstroV’s correspondent reports.

269 MPs voted for the relevant decision.

The bill establishes the share of programs, films and news releases in the Ukrainian language for TV and radio broadcasting organizations of the national broadcasting category at a level of at least 75% during the day in time intervals from 7:00 to 18:00 and from 18:00 to 22:00.

For television organizations of regional and local broadcasting categories, the required share of the Ukrainian language is set at 50%.
