A contract soldier, video of whose interrogation was published by the separatist media, had willfully left his place of service at the end of March and could voluntarily yield himself prisoner. This is reported by the press center of the ATO Headquarters.

It is noted that a video of interrogation "of the serviceman of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the sergeant of the military service under the contract T. Hapyak by uncertain persons" was posted on the Internet on May 11.

According to preliminary information, it was established that he had willfully left his place of service at the end of March this year. An official investigation was conducted on this fact, and a message was sent to the military prosecutor's office and military police.

"After careful examination of the incident that occurred in late March and taking into account all the circumstances, the serviceman was deprived of his military rank "sergeant" according to the Disciplinary Charter of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The materials of the official investigation were sent to the military prosecutor's office for the adoption of a legal decision under Article 430 of the Criminal Code – "Voluntary surrender into captivity", - the statement said.

The separatist media posted earlier a video of the "People's Militia" of the "LPR", in which the captive Taras Hapyak told about the poor state of the AFU equipment, reducing the moral and psychological state of personnel and so on.
