The issue of holding election in the occupied Donbass is not yet on the agenda of the Verkhovna Rada - Parubiy

The holding of election in the uncontrolled territory of the Donbass is possible only after the withdrawal of Russian troops and the renewal of control at the Russian-Ukrainian border. This was said by the Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Andriy Parubiy at a briefing in Kyiv today, - the correspondent of OstroV reports.

"I believe that the issue of holding election in uncontrolled territories today is not generally on the agenda of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine. I have always noted and I definitely hold the view that there can be no question of election without fulfillment of the preconditions for security. We cannot continue with any political issues as long as Russian troops are in Ukraine and the border is controlled by Russian militants", - he reported.

According to him, the first point to be fulfilled is a complete and long-term cease-fire.

"But I think it is impossible and unacceptable to organize a democratic process while there is Russian military", - Parubiy stressed.
