European Parliament voted for visa lib for Ukraine - Poroshenko

The European Parliament voted for visa-free regime for Ukrainian citizens. This was stated by President Petro Poroshenko today at the Kyiv Security Forum, OstroV’s correspondent reports.

"I have just received the news: 521 votes in the European Parliament for a visa-free regime with Ukraine... I congratulate you, the Ukrainian people, I congratulate you, Ukraine", - he said.

521 deputies voted for the corresponding decision, 75 voted against, 36 abstained.

Now the visa-free regime for Ukraine should be approved by the EU Council.

It is expected that the visa-free regime for Ukrainians will come into force in June.
