We need extraordinary efforts to ensure that as of January 1st  the commodity embargo and non-prefential trade regime are not introduced in relation to Ukraine . The Minister of Economic Development of Russia Alexei Ulyukayev stated about that, -  informs Kommersant  in reference to Interfax.

According to Ulyukayev, commodity embargo is not connected with the association of Ukraine and the EU but for joining sanctions against Russia.

"We offered to maintain the system of conformity certificates, which now Russian exporters are using on the Ukrainian market, and parallel operation of two systems of standards - European standards, which are being implemented in Ukraine, and the standards, which Ukraine must comply within the CIS agreement that they have a parallel circulation and businesses could choose. We offered the same in sanitary and phytosanitary control ... Nevertheless, we believe that the work will be conducted on the basis of that project which we have presented. Colleagues took an additional pause for further reviewing. But we must realize that you can review as long as necessary, but only as of January 1st you will have to review in a different economic reality, "- said the Minister.

The report mentioned that earlier the Russian government came to the conclusion that it no longer expects to bargain special conditions for the country when on January 1st, 2016 economic part of the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the EU comes into force and intends to introduce retaliation measures, in particular commodity embargo and higher duties on Ukrainian goods.
