The case of the self-proclaimed "people's governor” Hubariev was submitted to court

The SBU finished the pretrial investigation against one of the former leaders of terrorists Pavlo Hubariev. This is reported by the SBU press center.

“Hubariev is accused under Part 1 and Part 3 Article 109 (Actions aimed at forceful change or overthrow of the constitutional order or take-over of government), Part 2 Article 110 (Trespass against territorial integrity and inviolability of Ukraine), Part 1 Article 28 (Criminal offense committed by a criminal organization), Part 1 Article 294 (Riots) and Part 1 Article 258-3 (Creation of a terrorist organization) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine”, - the report says.

The investigation was conducted under procedural supervision of the Main Military Prosecutor’s Office of the Prosecutor General’s Office of Ukraine. The bill of indictment was sent to Shevchenko District Court of Kyiv for consideration.

In 2014, Pavlo Hubariev was one of the leaders of the separatists in the Donbass. The assigned himself a position of the "people's governor of the Donetsk oblast" at a rally in support of the "referendum" in Donetsk. On March 6, 2014, he was detained by Ukrainian special services and arrested under Part 1 of Article 109 (actions aimed at forcible seizure of state power), Part 2 of Article 110 (encroachment on the territorial integrity and inviolability of Ukraine) and Article 341 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (seizure of state or public buildings or structures). In May 2014, he, among other, was exchanged for three Alpha officers.
