President Petro Poroshenko expressed concern over the statements of Hungarian government officials regarding the establishment of separate territorial autonomies. He stated this at a meeting with Prime Minister of Hungary Viktor Orbán, - the presidental press service reports.

The parties shared views on the topical bilateral issues and stressed the importance of intensifying bilateral political dialogue at the highest level.

Special attention was paid to the issue of Russian aggression in Donbass. The parties discussed the issue of preserving the existing regime of the EU sanctions against Russia as an efficient instrument of ensuring full implementation of the Minsk agreements and restoration of Ukraine’s territorial integrity and sovereignty.

The parties discussed the issue of expanding cooperation of Ukraine with the Visegrad Group in the course of the presidency of Hungary in the Group that will begin on July 1, 2017.

Prime Minister Orbán expressed support for Ukraine’s territorial integrity and immediate provision of the visa-free regime with the EU for Ukrainians.

Petro Poroshenko invited Viktor Orbán to make a visit to Ukraine.

As previously reported, the Hungarian Deputy Prime Minister spoke for the autonomy of Hungarian minorities abroad.
