The Main Military Prosecutor's Office of Ukraine reported a suspicion to the General of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation Alexey Zavizion who was involved in the death of 3 thousand Ukrainian soldiers. This was reported by the press service of the Prosecutor's Office.
Zavizion was informed of suspicion of waging an aggressive war (Part 2, Article 28, Part 2, Article 437 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine), participation in a terrorist organization (Part 1, Article 258-3 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine) and committing actions aimed at changing the borders of the territory and state border of Ukraine, which led to the death of people and other heavy consequences (Part 3, Article 110 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
"Zavision is reasonably suspected of the fact that he provided daily shellfire of the positions of ATO forces by the subordinate illegal armed units and committing armed attacks on servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, other military formations and law enforcement agencies on the territory of Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts by giving orders, monitoring their implementation and coordinating actions through subordinate officers of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation in the period from February to July 2015, in collusion with other authorities and officials of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, acting as commander of the 1 Army Corps - an illegal armed formation, the so-called "People's Militia of the DPR", - the Prosecutor's Office reports.
At least 3 thousand people were killed and more than 8 thousand servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and other military formations involved in ATO were wounded, the districts of the Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts were temporarily occupied and significant material damage was caused to the state of Ukraine as a result of the commitment of above-noted willful acts by above-noted accomplices.
"The suspect is put on the wanted list, a request on detention permit in order to drive for participation in the examination of request on applying a measure of restraint by way of detention in custody is being prepared", – the department notes.
