The UN states that it was registered the largest number of victims in the last six months in the Donbass in February 2017. This is reported by dn.depo.ua with reference to the press service of the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights.

It is reported that 11 civilians were killed and 62 were injured in February 2017.

"This is the largest number of victims from August 2016," - the statement said.

It is noted that this growth is caused by the intra-war escalation in the area of Avdiivka, Donetsk, Makiivka from January 29 to February 3, 2017.

It is reported that eight civilians have been wounded in the Donbass since the beginning of March.

More than 2 thousand civilians were killed in total from mid-April, 2014 to March 5, 2017. The number of wounded is estimated at 7-9 thousand people.

As previously reported, the number of killed and wounded civilians in the first two months of 2017 had doubled as compared to November – December of 2016 as a result of the conflict in the Donbass.
