The “DPR” leader said that special commission is preparing to launch Akhmetov’s plant without Ukraine

The “DPR” leader Oleksandr Zakharchenko said that Yenakiieve Iron and Steel Plant can resume its operation without the Ukrainian side, - the separatist media reported.

"For now, the Commission gave its first conclusion that we are able to run Yenakiieve Iron and Steel Plant without Ukraine", - said the leader of “the republic”.

As previously reported, the "DPR" is going to announce the creation of the so-called "state holding" Metenergo, which will include the "nationalized" companies of Rinat Akhmetov.

On February 20, the SCM reported that Yenakiieve Iron and Steel Plant (“Yenakiieve Steel”, which includes a Makiivka branch), a steelmaker, and Krasnodon Coal Company (“Krasnodon Coal”), a coking coal producer, subsidiaries of Metinvest Group (“Metinvest” or “the Group”), had halted operations. Production has been disrupted by the ongoing armed hostilities and a blockade of railway transportation between the controlled and the uncontrolled territory of Ukraine, - the message read.
