Ukraine is determined to steps for the early release of the hostages held in the Russian Federation and in the occupied territories, President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has said at a press conference in Tallinn, - Interfax-Ukraina reports.

"We have serious intentions regarding the early release of Ukrainian, Estonian and other hostages who are held in Russia and in the occupied territories", - he said.

The president expressed regret that the situation with the hostages, who are being held in the Russian Federation, is very serious. "Unfortunately, the only thing we need is the consolidated actions of the world, as in the case of Afanasiev, Soloshenko and others, only joint actions lead to the result. We are ready to take decisive and coordinated actions concerning Ukrainian citizens, including Sushchenko, Sentsov and others, as well as nationals of other countries", - P.Poroshenko said.

He also recalled that a few weeks ago Ukraine has unilaterally released 15 people, so it was waiting for the response from the Russian Federation.

"Unfortunately, there was no response from the Russian side. We emphasize that we have serious intentions to continue this fight", - the head of the Ukrainian state concluded.
