Verkhovna Rada adopted the state budget for 2017

The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted the law №5000 "On the State Budget for 2017". 274 deputies voted for this decision - reports Economicheskaya Pravda.

Presenting the bill, Finance Minister Olexandr Danyluk said that the Cabinet of Ministers has prepared a realistic draft budget. Among the priorities are increasing of the defense capability and social standards, the development of education, healthcare, targeted support for agriculture, road infrastructure development, etc.

He also noted that the draft budget provides for the necessary resources to increase the minimum wage to UAH 3200.

The document envisages the budget revenues for 2017 in the amount of UAH 721,398 billion, including UAH 669,409 billion of general fund revenues, and a special fund revenues of UAH 51,989 billion.

Budget expenditures for the next year are provided in the amount of UAH 790,393 billion, including general fund expenditures of UAH 735,378 billion and of the special fund expenditures of UAH 55,015 billion.

The maximum amount of the budget deficit is defined in the amount of UAH 77,547 billion, including UAH 62,338 billion of the maximum amount of the general fund deficit, and UAH 15,208 billion of the maximum amount of the special fund deficit.

In 2017, the subsistence minimum per person per month is established in the amount of UAH 1544 from January 1, 2017 and UAH 1624 from May 1, UAH 1700 from December 1.

From January 1, the minimum monthly wage is established in the amount of UAH 3200, and the minimum hourly wage is UAH 19,34.

"During the finalization of the draft budget for the second reading we took into account the Government's decision to increase the minimum wage to UAH 3200 per month and to increase the salary of the I worker’s rate (according to the Unified Rate Schedule) to UAH 1600," – is stated in the explanatory notes.

As noted, an additional expenses of approximately UAH 28,3 billion is provided for these purposes. It will ensure the payment of increased salaries of public sector employees.

On Tuesday, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine endorsed the amendments to the Tax Code, which provide an increase in excise duties on alcohol and cigarettes and reduce the rent for oil production.

MPs also canceled 2% social tax on foreign exchange transactions.
