On the Kostiantynivka axis, russian troops are trying to cut off the main logistical routes to the city and establish a foothold in some of its districts. Meanwhile, Ukrainian troops continue to hold positions on the outskirts of Kostiantynivka and have received no orders to withdraw, an officer of the 36th Separate Marine Brigade named after Rear Admiral Mykhailo Bilynskyi, call sign “Moriak”, said on the United News telethon, Suspilne Donbas reports.
“The situation on the Kostiantynivka axis is difficult right now because the enemy is almost managing to cut off our logistical routes. In other words, the enemy is currently managing to advance towards Oleksiive-Druzhkivka and has almost cut off the logistical route to Kostiantynivka. But we have held our positions on the outskirts of Kostiantynivka and continue to hold them. There are no orders to withdraw, so we will stand our ground until the very end”, - the serviceman noted.
He also said that a significant number of Ukrainian soldiers had been holding their positions for more than six months without rotation. According to the officer, there are not enough prepared defensive lines on the approaches to the city, particularly in the direction of Oleksiive-Druzhkivka.
“We have a major gap because we are more focused on holding Kostiantynivka than on creating the next line of defence”, - “Moriak” explained.
According to him, russian assault groups are already entering certain districts of Kostiantynivka and trying to establish a foothold near high-rise apartment buildings. As a result, Ukrainian troops have to change their movement routes and bypass dangerous areas.
“A large number of enemy troops have already entered Kostiantynivka. They are already cutting off our logistical routes in the area of the nine-storey apartment buildings in Kostiantynivka; they are directly establishing a foothold in these areas. We can see them, but we are not destroying them because the kill zone has expanded considerably, and the enemy has managed to push our FPV drone crews and others back. We have no strike capability as such. Well, we can't reach them”, - the officer said.
He added that the russian army was constantly replenishing its units with fresh troops. The russian command continues to use the tactic of continuously committing personnel to assaults, periodically deploying better-trained servicemen to carry out more complex tasks.
