General Staff: Ukraine ensured a ceasefire in the Kherson oblast to carry out an operation in Oleshky, which the enemy used to strengthen its positions

“As part of the ceasefire introduced to carry out a humanitarian operation in Oleshky, units of Ukraine’s Defense Forces ensured compliance with the ceasefire and acted exclusively within the framework of the agreements reached”, - the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported on October 2.

It is noted that, as a result, humanitarian supplies were delivered to their intended destinations, and Ukrainian men and women who expressed a desire to leave Oleshky returned to territory under Ukrainian control.

“The enemy, however, used the humanitarian pause to strengthen its positions. During the ceasefire, the rotation of russian units, the strengthening of positions, the expansion of anti-drone measures along roads, and the buildup of logistics, including the delivery of ammunition, were recorded”, - the statement also said.
