The Verkhovna Rada voted to extend martial law in Ukraine for another 90 days, until January 29, 2027. This is the 21st extension since the start of the full-scale war. This became known from a broadcast of the Verkhovna Rada, as reported by Hromadske on October 26.

A total of 293 MPs voted in favor of extending martial law, while one voted against. The parliament then also voted to extend mobilization, with 281 MPs voting in favor.

As reported, the majority of Ukrainians support a cessation of hostilities and seeking a compromise through negotiations as a way to end the war. At the same time, the majority are not prepared to agree to peace on any terms.
