U.S. First Lady Melania Trump secured a ceasefire between russia and Ukraine in the city of Oleshky, which is occupied by russian forces and is currently experiencing a humanitarian catastrophe. This was announced by the White House, according to European Pravda.

According to the statement, russia and Ukraine agreed to temporarily cease all military operations in Oleshky to ensure the delivery of humanitarian aid and prepare for the evacuation of civilians through a designated safe corridor.

The local ceasefire is due to take effect on October 29.

“The situation in Oleshky is catastrophic. Oleshky is a frontline city on the brink of disaster. The population remaining in Oleshky consists predominantly of elderly people who urgently need medical care, medicine, food and clean water”, - the U.S. First Lady said.

“It was absolutely clear that without my intervention, delivering humanitarian aid to the city and evacuating the elderly would have been impossible”, - Melania Trump added.

It is noted that the U.S. First Lady and her representative worked directly with the leadership of russia and Ukraine to determine the terms of the local ceasefire. Melania Trump initiated negotiations with both countries and coordinated the agreement’s objectives, technical procedures, timelines, processes and terms between the parties.

“Non-military civilian leaders from both countries will jointly visit Oleshky residents in their homes and determine what assistance they need. Residents who wish to evacuate will receive coordinated support and transportation to their chosen destination. I assume that some will want to go to russia, while others will want to go to Ukraine”, - the First Lady said.

According to her, an impartial American media organization will accompany and document the activities of the russian and Ukrainian teams on the ground throughout the entire process.
