The EU demands unhindered access for humanitarian aid to Oleshky, in the Kherson oblast, which is occupied by russia

Brussels has described the situation in the city as “unacceptable” and is working with international partners to help the civilians who remain there, Polish Radio reports.

European Commission spokesperson Eva Hrnčířová emphasized that, under international humanitarian law, residents must receive basic assistance and be able to leave the combat zone safely and voluntarily. However, one of the problems is the lack of humanitarian corridors.

The European Union is working to provide assistance in cooperation with international organizations and Ukraine. Oleshky is under russian occupation, and reports from the city indicate a serious humanitarian crisis.

Earlier, EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas said that Brussels was trying to help the city's residents. Michael O'Flaherty, the Council of Europe's Commissioner for Human Rights, has also expressed interest in the situation.
