Moscow’s largest oil refinery is on fire, while the Sofyino technopark is burning in the moscow oblast: consequences of the AFU strikes

“Overnight, the Moscow oblast came under a massive drone attack”, - the region’s governor Andrei Vorobyov wrote on his Telegram channel on September 20.

He emphasizes the drones hitting residential buildings, but is forced to acknowledge that the targets of the attack by Ukraine’s Defense Forces were infrastructure facilities in the moscow oblast.

“In Sofyino, a warehouse complex caught fire after the attack…, while in Istra, a company building was hit”, - Vorobyov wrote.

Fire Point said that it was FP-1 attack drones that destroyed the warehouse complex in the moscow oblast.

Ukrainian drones also reached moscow. The largest oil refinery in Kapotnya was hit.

Its capacity is 11 million tonnes of oil per year. The plant supplies about 40% of moscow’s fuel market and 70% of the moscow oblast’s demand for gasoline and aviation fuel.
