“There is a chance”: putin spoke about the possibility of “reaching an agreement” with Ukraine

The president of russia once again stated that he considers a peaceful settlement of the war that russia has been waging against Ukraine for the fifth year possible. He said this at the plenary session of the Eastern Economic Forum, which is currently taking place in Vladivostok, the BBC reported on September 3.

“First and foremost, Russia and Ukraine must reach an agreement among themselves. The other countries are ready to support and help, including the United States and China”, - the dictator said.

“Is there a chance (for a peaceful settlement)? Yes, in my view, there is”, - putin added.

He also stated that russia maintains contacts with Ukraine, primarily through the intelligence services.

The report notes that earlier, speaking about ending the war, the president of russia stated that moscow would seek to achieve the “goals of the SMO”, including full control over Donbas, i.e. also those territories of the region that Ukraine still controls.
