Chinese leader Xi Jinping will make his first official visit to the U.S. in 11 years, where he will meet with U.S. President Donald Trump. His visit is scheduled for September 23. Politico reports this, citing four sources, as reported by Babel.

The main talks with Trump will take place on September 24 in Washington D.C., and Xi Jinping will leave the country on September 25. The White House confirmed that the Chinese leader will arrive in the U.S. but did not provide details about any other possible events on Xi Jinping’s schedule during his visit.

At the same time, the UN General Assembly’s general debate is scheduled to begin in New York on September 22. Diplomats had previously assumed that Xi might combine his visit to Washington D.C. with participation in UN events, but this will not happen, journalists clarify. The last time the Chinese leader personally addressed the UN General Assembly in New York was in 2015.
