Ukrainian military say Mariupol–Chonhar route is under fire control

Ukrainian servicemen from the Signum unit have stated that the Mariupol–Chonhar route, which russian forces use as one of their key logistics corridors and a "land corridor" to Crimea, is under the fire control of Ukraine's Defense Forces. The Signum unit's press service announced this on August 6.

According to the military, strikes on this route have complicated the supply of russian forces, particularly the transportation of personnel, ammunition, and fuel. The unit notes that the route, which the occupiers had previously considered safe, has now become significantly more dangerous for their logistics.

The military urged local residents in the temporarily occupied territories to exercise maximum caution and, whenever possible, avoid routes used by russian military equipment.

"The occupiers traditionally try to shield their logistics with civilians by moving trucks among the vehicles of local residents", - Signum noted.

The isolation of this logistics route used by the occupiers became known as early as May 2026. At that time, according to reports, Ukrainian forces were able to gain the upper hand in this area thanks to Hornet drones.
