"Mayor" of occupied Mariupol said 2,500 families who lost their homes agreed to move into other people's apartments

"The number of municipal housing units accepted by people who lost their homes as a result of the fighting has reached 2,500 apartments", - Anton Koltsov, the occupation-appointed "head of the city district", - told local journalists.

According to him, the process of distributing housing confiscated under the pretext of being ownerless is now "in an active phase".

"As of today, cumulatively speaking about the municipal housing stock, we have already allocated 2,500 apartments", - Koltsov said.

At the same time, the Mariupol occupation chief's statement indicates that many residents, including those left homeless, are refusing the so-called "municipal" replacement housing. Speaking about the 2,500 people who agreed to move into confiscated "ownerless" apartments, the "mayor" emphasized that "these are the cases where applicants agreed to accept the offered premises".

In total, he specified, two rounds of apartment allocation were held in Mariupol this year. The first round included more than 2,000 apartments, while the second covered more than 3,300. People were given 30 days to inspect the apartment and decide whether to accept or reject it.
