Poland denied putin's claim that it is prepared to take over Ukraine's western regions and called on russia to abandon its imperial ambitions of "gathering lands"

"Poland has not made, is not making, and has no intention of making any territorial claims against Ukraine in the future. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs rejects vladimir putin's latest false and completely groundless speculation about the alleged imperial ambitions of Ukraine's neighbors and the territorial partition of Ukraine", - PAP reports, citing a statement by the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The Polish Foreign Ministry was responding to the russian dictator's statement that Ukraine would sooner or later lose its western territories because "the russian federation was the only guarantor of its territorial integrity".

"The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland unequivocally rejects the further false and completely unfounded speculation by russian president vladimir putin regarding the alleged imperial ambitions of neighboring countries and the territorial partition of Ukraine, as well as suggestions that the Republic of Poland is involved in such a process", - the statement said.

It noted that putin's remarks are "nothing more than disinformation and yet another attempt to provoke antagonism and tension between Ukrainians and their allies supporting Kyiv".

The Foreign Ministry emphasized that "the Republic of Poland has not made, is not making, and has no intention of making any territorial claims against Ukraine".

"Poland fully recognizes, respects, and consistently supports Ukraine's territorial integrity and sovereignty within its legally established, internationally recognized borders, including the 2003 bilateral Treaty on the State Border between Ukraine and the russian federation", - the statement says.

Poland's Foreign Ministry called on the kremlin to adopt the same position and abandon its imperial ambitions. "We call on the authorities of the russian federation to stop making territorial claims against their neighbors", - the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated.
