All vessels have stopped entering Ukrainian ports via the grain corridor, and the state is looking for a solution — Ministry of Agrarian Policy

"Just yesterday (July 21 — ed.), four to five vessels were entering the ports. As of today (July 22 — ed.), the entry of vessels has been suspended. As a state, we have imposed no restrictions whatsoever; this is the decision of the shipowners", - Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food Taras Vysotskyi said on July 22. He was quoted by Ukrinform on July 23.

According to him, the stable operation of the maritime corridor is a matter of national security, so the government is working on solutions that should help resume shipping, although the minister is not commenting on the details yet.

"First, we must consolidate all the proposals, after which the decisions will be communicated to the public", - Vysotskyi said.

He noted that the situation is quite dynamic, so it is still too early to assess the long-term consequences for exports.

The minister also urged producers not to rush into selling their products unless there is an urgent need.

"If it is not critical, the recommendation for any producer is not to rush decisions. There is sufficient storage capacity, and we will be able to accommodate the projected harvest volume of spring crops", - the minister said.
