"FREYA" is a European project chaired by Ukraine. President Volodymyr Zelensky announced this while speaking with journalists, according to Channel 24.

The head of state said that the first meeting to present the project will take place in France in the near future. Ukraine plans to bring together heads of state, defense companies, and partners to secure their support and jointly launch production of the system.

The president noted that Ukraine is capable of developing such a system on its own, but that doing so would take years. Instead, thanks to the international anti-ballistic coalition, the project can be implemented much faster.

"If the leaders, their production capabilities, and their companies support FREYA, it will become a reality in the near future", - the president said.

According to Zelensky, creating a modern anti-ballistic system is one of Ukraine's top priorities. He expressed hope that FREYA will help better protect Ukrainian skies and that, in the future, the system will also be available to European partners supporting Ukraine.

It was also previously reported that Donald Trump authorized Ukraine to manufacture Patriot systems independently.
