UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Zeid Ra'ad Al-Hussein called to limit the veto powers of permanent members of the UN Security Council. It is reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to the PA.

According to him, the veto should be limited in dealing with war crimes, crimes against humanity and genocide.

"I firmly believe that it is high time for strong leadership and decisive action, and that the UN Security Council should immediately adopt the criterion of limiting the right of members to use the veto when there is serious concern that war crimes have been commiteed, crimes against humanity or acts of genocide," - he said.

He also added that the air strikes (including the Russian Air Force) on Syrian city of Aleppo were "most intense" in the last 10 days, despite the fact that the war in the country has been going on since 2011.
