The Sloviansk-Kramatorsk agglomeration is currently the main objective of russian forces. That is why they are now putting pressure on Yampil and trying to expand the salient north of Lyman. All of this is resulting in enormous losses for the occupiers, as no one intends to surrender Lyman to the russian army. This was stated by the spokesperson for the Joint Forces Group of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Lieutenant Colonel Viktor Trehubov, on Ukrainian Radio, as reported by Ukrinform.

According to him, the number of combat engagements in this sector has increased by approximately one and a half times in recent weeks. Enemy losses have risen in the same proportion.

“Right now, in our area, the russians are losing 250–300 personnel per day, and most of them are on the Lyman front. Previously, it was 150–200. So both the number of combat engagements and the number of russian casualties have increased by one and a half times. All of this is due primarily to increased activity on the Lyman front... It seems they are beginning to feel the limitations of their own resources, including time. In other words, the combination of fuel supply problems across the russian federation and the results of our strikes against their rear areas has had an impact”, - Trehubov said.

The spokesperson noted that Lyman is of strategic importance to the russians as a bridgehead for a further offensive toward Sloviansk and the Sloviansk-Kramatorsk agglomeration. However, he described those plans as unrealistic. “No one intends to surrender Lyman to the russian army, just as no one intends to give them Borova or Kupiansk”, - Trehubov concluded.
