56% of Ukrainians believe that the United States is tired of Ukraine and is pressuring Kyiv to make concessions in negotiations to end the war with russia, according to the Kyiv International Institute of Sociology (KIIS), citing poll results.
It is noted that the Kyiv International Institute of Sociology (KIIS) conducted the survey from May 7 to June 3.
According to the findings, 56% of respondents believe that the United States is tired and is pressuring Ukraine to make concessions to russia. At the same time, 30% say that the United States remains a reliable ally. KIIS noted that public opinion on this issue has remained unchanged over the past six months.
KIIS also recalled that, according to other surveys, Ukrainians have a differentiated attitude toward the United States: while the majority are indeed critical of the U.S. leadership, 83% have a positive attitude toward ordinary Americans.
As for Europe, 64% of Ukrainians continue to believe that it is seriously helping Ukraine and wants the war to end on fair terms. Those who believe that Europe is tired and is pushing for an unfair peace account for 25%.
KIIS noted that compared to January, there has been a slight increase in the number of people who view Europe's policy toward Ukraine positively. The share of respondents who consider Europe a reliable ally increased from 58% to 64%, while the share of those who believe Europe is growing tired and its support is weakening decreased from 35% to 25%.
“This may partly be linked to the EU's provision of a multi-billion-euro loan to Ukraine, the consequences of the election results in Hungary, and expectations of more decisive action from the EU, especially against the backdrop of U.S. policy”, – KIIS explained.
