“Along with the defenders, one civilian is also returning. Soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the National Guard, and the State Border Guard Service. Privates, sergeants, and officers. They defended our country in Mariupol and at Azovstal, as well as on the Donetsk, Luhansk, Kharkiv, Kherson, Zaporizhzhia, Sumy, Kyiv, and Kursk directions. Among them are those who are returning after years of russian captivity, having been held there since 2022”, - President Zelensky reported on social media on June 5.

“Thank you to everyone who makes this possible: the team working on exchanges, our partners. And a special thanks to the warriors who replenish our exchange fund – through their strength and results on the front line they ensure the return of our people home. The work continues. The return of our people is an unwavering priority for Ukraine. Every day we work to free every Ukrainian man and woman from captivity”, - the President emphasized.
