Zelensky: The massive russian strike on Ukraine did not coincidentally coincide with Trump’s visit to China

“It definitely cannot be called a coincidence that one of the longest massive russian attacks against Ukraine happened precisely when the President of the United States arrived on a visit to China — a visit from which many expect a lot. At this difficult geopolitical moment, russia is clearly trying to spoil the overall political background and draw attention to its evil — trying to do so at the cost of Ukrainian lives and Ukrainian infrastructure”, - President Volodymyr Zelensky stated on social media on May 13.

“All day on May 13, the russians have been launching waves of ‘Shahed’ UAVs against our regions, and in particular deliberately targeting the regions closest to the borders of NATO countries. There have already been strikes in Zakarpattia, the Lviv oblast, Volyn, as well as in Ivano-Frankivsk and the Rivne oblast. Unfortunately, there have also been strikes in many other oblasts: the Vinnytsia, Chernivtsi, Khmelnytskyi, Dnipro, Kirovohrad, Zaporizhzhia, Zhytomyr, Kyiv, Mykolaiv, Odesa, Sumy, Cherkasy, Kharkiv, and Kherson. At this time, dozens of injured people are known about, including children. Unfortunately, six people have been killed. My condolences to their families and loved ones. Since the beginning of the day, there have already been at least 800 russian drones, and the attack continues, with more drones entering our country’s airspace”, - Zelensky stated on May 13.

He noted that, according to Ukrainian intelligence, missile launches against Ukraine are also quite possible after all the waves of drones.

“Our warriors are defending Ukraine, but russia’s obvious goal is to overload air defense systems and cause as much grief and pain as possible precisely on these days. It is important that the world does not remain silent about this. It is important that russia’s true intentions are obvious to leaders and countries. It is important to truly pressure the russian aggressor so that this terror stops. Right now, all services are engaged in eliminating the consequences of the strikes.
