“As of today, citizens of 48 countries are in our captivity as prisoners of war. These are hundreds, not even dozens, of people”, - said the Secretary of the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War, Brigadier General Dmytro Usov, at an event presenting the report “Foreign Fighters in the Russian Army: How to Stop the Global Recruitment Scheme” on April 29, Interfax-Ukraine writes.

According to him, the top 7 countries whose citizens are most represented are: Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Nepal, Kyrgyzstan.

The Coordination Headquarters also noted that the number of foreign nationals being captured is increasing.
