“The implementation of our agreement with the EU is already underway”: Zelensky made a statement about russia’s motives to end the war

“Right now, the implementation of our agreement with the European Union to unblock a support package for Ukraine in the amount of 90 billion euros over two years, as well as a new package of sanctions against russia for this war, is effectively already underway. The unblocking is the right signal under the current circumstances. Russia must end its war. And motives for this can appear only when both support for Ukraine and pressure on russia are sufficient”, - President Zelensky said on social media on April 22.

According to him, Ukraine is fulfilling its obligations in relations with the European Union, even in such controversial issues as the operation of the Druzhba oil pipeline.

“We expect that Europe will also provide what is necessary for the real protection of lives and for bringing Ukraine closer to full European integration. It is important that the European support package starts working promptly. We will also speak with European leaders about opening clusters for Ukraine: the conditions for this have already been met. We also continue our work to strengthen sanctions against russia and to further develop the European energy system in such a way that russia loses the ability to manipulate energy supplies to Europe”, - Zelensky noted.
