EU ambassadors have launched a written procedure to approve the allocation of 90 billion euros for Ukraine, Hromadske reports.
As reported, the issue of the 90-billion-euro loan for Ukraine was added to the agenda of the meeting of the Committee of Permanent Representatives (Coreper). On April 22, the committee is approving amendments to the EU’s multiannual budget — this is the final technical element required to launch the loan for Kyiv.
The item on the loan was included in the agenda without discussion, which indicates preliminary agreement among the member states. After approval, the document will be adopted through a written procedure, which will pave the way for its final adoption.
The written procedure is usually announced for one day — during this time, ambassadors of all 27 EU member states must sign the document or justify a refusal to adopt it. The decision can be made earlier if all states sign the approval sheet.
In addition, according to media reports, EU ambassadors also supported the 20th package of sanctions against russia.
