“Dmitriev’s near-hysterical performance (after the trip of russian parliamentarians to the United States, — ed.) cannot be explained only by the lack of results in negotiations with Witkoff and Kushner. At these meetings (there were at least five over the past five months), Dmitriev, according to insider information, offered various types of preferences (Nord Stream, access for American companies to deposits on the Arctic shelf, priorities in cooperation in the oil and gas sector, unconditional return of American corporations, etc.) in exchange for lifting or easing sanctions”, - several russian media wrote on March 30, citing the Telegram channel “Nezygar”.
“Judging by the absence of comments from the parties and even minimal changes in the U.S. position, Dmitriev’s efforts were unsuccessful. And his commercial schemes aimed at interesting the United States, in particular to stop supporting Ukraine with weapons and intelligence data, did not convince Trump’s representatives, who perceived these proposals as a sign of weakness”, - the statement says.
In addition, it is emphasized that “the conflict between Dmitriev and Lavrov is taking on a new format — using all possible forms”.
