Pistorius criticized Trump for his approach to putin and russia’s war against Ukraine

"Unfortunately, the American president influenced the course of the war and putin’s self-confidence when he rolled out the red carpet and welcomed him as a friend in Alaska, while at the same time completely abandoning military support for Ukraine", - said German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius on Deutschlandfunk radio.

He also suggested that Trump made an early tactical mistake in peace negotiations when he ruled out the possibility of Ukraine joining NATO.

Pistorius promised to maintain military and financial support for Ukraine from Berlin, despite the fact that russia’s invasion has turned into a "war of attrition".

"There are almost no significant shifts on the battlefield. But much worse is that while putin pretends to negotiate, a war of terror is being waged against Ukrainian civilians. That is why it is so important that we do not weaken our support for Ukraine. And if you look at the state of the russian economy, now is exactly the time to stay the course", - Pistorius noted.

It is reported that the White House insists on concluding an agreement to end the war in Ukraine by the 250th anniversary of U.S. independence, which will be celebrated on July 4.
