“Today I spoke in detail several times with our team at the negotiations in Geneva. It was the second day of meetings — both the trilateral format and other formats as well. Ukraine is interested in a result. As of today, we cannot say that the result is sufficient. The military substantively spoke on some issues. Sensitive political issues, questions about possible compromises and the necessary meeting of leaders have not yet been sufficiently worked out. We are counting on the next meeting, and it would be right to hold it already in February”, - President Zelensky said in a video address on February 18.

“It is important that Europeans were present — France, United Kingdom, Germany, Italy, Switzerland as the host side. It is precisely we in Ukraine who have always promoted the position that Europe must be a participant in the process. I want to thank the United States of America for hearing this position”, - the President emphasized.

He also reported that he had tasked the Ukrainian delegation in Geneva “with discussing the humanitarian track — exchanges of prisoners of war are needed, the release of civilians”.

“We are seeking information on every person and always working to bring our people back — to return Ukrainians home. Every exchange matters. I am also grateful to our soldiers at the front who are conducting active operations and replenishing the exchange fund for us, for Ukraine”, - Zelensky noted.

It was reported earlier that Vladimir Medinsky called the talks “difficult”.
