The IAEA is closely monitoring how russia is destroying the foundations of nuclear energy safety in Ukraine

“Several Ukrainian electrical substations vital for nuclear safety were affected by widespread military activity this morning”, - IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi wrote on his page on X.

He noted that Chornobyl lost all off-site power and power lines to other NPPs were also impacted.

“The IAEA is actively following developments in order to assess impact on nuclear safety”, - Grossi assured.

Earlier putin threatened that russia could strike Ukrainian NPPs.
