The russian dictator vladimir putin stated that russia in negotiations with the United States continues to demand that the entire territory of Donbas be handed over to it — territory that it has been unable to capture — reports the russian outlet “Kommersant”, citing sources.
As noted, on December 25 putin held a traditional pre-New Year meeting of the State Council of the russian federation and spoke about the negotiation process with the United States and Ukraine regarding the so-called peace plan.
“He talked about the agreements in Anchorage, about the plan of the American side and about which positions were, one could say, agreed on the fly. And that the Americans later stepped back from some of their own proposals as a result of negotiations with the Europeans. And that this is weakness”, - the publication says.
The outlet notes that putin claimed that the russian side is still ready to make the concessions that he accepted for himself during the meeting with Trump in Anchorage.
“That is, we are talking about the fact that ‘Donbas is ours’. It was said that ‘the issue of the affiliation of the Kramatorsk–Kostiantynivka–Sloviansk hub is not being discussed’. But that otherwise a partial exchange of territories from the russian side is also not excluded”, - the publication says.
