Flooded mines of Pervomayskugol may cause an ecological disaster in Luhansk region

Authorities of the Luhansk Regional State Administration appeal to the higher authorities with a demand to return the state support for coal enterprises, according to the Mass Communications Department of the agency.

On September 7th senior executives of Lisichanskugol JSC, Pervomayskugol JSC and Luhansk authorities discussed issues of repayment of wages, the current problems of enterprises related to the lack of adequate state support for the coal industry.

"In particular, the meeting participants discussed the possibility of obtaining funds from the state and regional budgets for running and maintenance of existing lava in the framework of preventing the preservation of the mines," - says the source.

According to the results of the meeting, they decided to establish a working group for ways out of this situation, representatives of the Ministry, regional administration, enterprises, relevant specialized institutions will be part of it.

They also discussed the issues of combating flooding of mines belonging to the Pervomayskugol JSC and the associated risk of ecological disaster.

"In order to prevent such a situation, the Department of Regional Development, Industry, Infrastructure and Energy Efficiency of Regional State Administration has already prepared and sent relevant proposals to the Ministry of Energy and Mines and the NSDC," - says the report.
