“In Poltava, a locomotive depot, the power supply station, and traction substations were hit. Administrative and warehouse premises, as well as rolling stock, were damaged”, - said Deputy Prime Minister Oleksii Kuleba on October 7.

According to him, fires broke out but were extinguished by rescuers.

Also, due to the attack, trains Kharkiv–Lviv, Lviv–Kharkiv, and Kramatorsk–Lviv were temporarily delayed — all of them are now in motion.

“As a result of the strikes, an energy facility was damaged. More than a thousand households in Poltava and nearby settlements were left without power. A similar situation occurred in Sumy: residential buildings were damaged, and part of the city was cut off from electricity. Response headquarters are working on site”, - Kuleba noted.

Specialists are inspecting the areas, restoring power supply, and assisting residents. Railway traffic has been stabilized, and critical infrastructure is gradually returning to operation.

“The enemy’s goal is clear: russia is trying to turn cold and darkness into weapons. The adversary wants to disrupt the heating season and paralyze the work of Ukrzaliznytsia, which remains a vital artery of the country”, - Kuleba emphasized.
