Zelensky: “Our defense in winter depends on air defense missiles, we have deliveries, the US has not blocked anything”

“Our defense in winter depends, first of all, on air defense missiles. For the Patriots and NASAMS, we mainly purchase missiles in the United States of America. Everything here depends on the filling of PURL (‘Priority Ukrainian Requirements List’). This is the program through which we purchase air defense systems in the US”, - said President Volodymyr Zelensky on October 6.

“There are very responsible countries that understand the price of this protection and the price of life in Ukraine during winter. First and foremost, these are the Netherlands, Germany, Canada, Sweden, Denmark, and Norway. These are the main contributions that have been made. These are the main countries that provided funds for this program, through which we buy scarce items available only in the US. There are also our friends — the Baltic countries: Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia. Also Belgium, Iceland, and Luxembourg”, - Zelensky noted.

“We have begun discussions with countries about the second round, the second stage of their contributions. Because we do not see enough speed from other countries. Unfortunately. Therefore, the situation today depends on these countries. We have deliveries. The US has not blocked anything. This is important”, - the President emphasized.
