"The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted the Law on the Military Ombudsman. He is appointed by the President of Ukraine", - reports the Telegram channel of the Verkhovna Rada on September 17.
It is noted that the law provides for:
- The Ombudsman will oversee the security and defense sector regarding the observance of the rights of servicemen, reservists, and conscripts during training assemblies.
- One of the key functions will be identifying violations, their causes and conditions, as well as developing proposals to minimize and eliminate them.
- The Military Ombudsman will review complaints and conduct inspections regarding possible violations of rights. He has the right to request and obtain necessary information, including data with restricted access. The Ombudsman is obliged not to disclose information about the applicant’s personal life without their consent.
