"In Kyiv, a permanent representation of the European Parliament will open. This was stated by the President of the European Parliament Roberta Metsola during her speech in the hall of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on September 17", - reports the Telegram channel of the Verkhovna Rada.

"We are opening a permanent representation of the European Parliament here in Kyiv to be present in Ukraine and work with you side by side every day. This was our commitment to you, and we are fulfilling it", - said Roberta Metsola.

According to her, Ukraine will never walk alone; the European Parliament will remain alongside our state, in particular during post-war recovery and reconstruction.

Roberta Metsola also stated that the adoption of the 19th package of European Union sanctions against russia is expected soon.

"We are coordinating closely with our allies to ensure maximum impact. And we will continue moving away from russian gas and russian oil", - she emphasized.

Also, according to Roberta Metsola, issues concerning russia’s shadow fleet will be addressed promptly.

"This is what is called solidarity in action, but ultimately it is about our collective security. Part of this solidarity also concerns Ukraine’s place in our union. Joining the European Union itself is a guarantee of security. And we are moving together along this path", - she noted, emphasizing that the European Union has already provided €169 billion in support to Ukraine, of which €63 billion is military support.

As reported, Merz emphasized: "Ukraine’s capitulation to russia is unacceptable, we will not allow it".
