“If energy prices drop low enough, putin will stop killing people. That will be good, even if it means his own people are dying in Ukraine. But putin will stop killing people. If energy prices fall another $10 per barrel, he’ll have no choice, because his economy is terrible”, - said Trump.
The U.S. president also emphasized that the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries, OPEC+, “plans to increase” oil production, and this is already affecting the energy market. Russia is also a member of OPEC+. On August 3, the organization agreed to increase oil production starting in September 2025, according to a statement on its website.
