Putin put on Russian troops, including aerospace forces, to full combat readiness
Sudden checks regarding the combat readiness of the Russian armed forces is to be conducted in several districts in the period of August 25th to August 31st. It was stated by the head of the Defense Ministry of Russia Sergey Shoygu at the meeting with senior personnel, - reports RIA Novosti.
In particular, checks will be held in the Southern, Western and Central districts, as well as in the Northern Fleet and will also concern Aerospace and Airborne forces.
"Today, another spot checks started in accordance with the decision of the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation. The troops of the Southern district, part of the forces and means of the Western and Central military districts, the Northern Fleet, the High Command of Air Space Forces, command of the Airborne Troops from are on alert, "Full alert" as of 07.00 of Moscow Time," - he said.
As previously reported, the National Security and Defense Council Secretary Aleksandr Turchynov said that Russia would begin another large-scale military exercises near the Ukrainian border soon.
