"Zelensky wants this war to end" – Trump did not speak with the President of Ukraine about a ceasefire

This was stated by the U.S. President after talks with the Ukrainian leader on June 25, reports BBC Russian Service.

"From the meeting, I gathered that Zelensky wants this [war] to end. I need to talk to vladimir putin, we’ll see if we can end this. It’s madness — nearly 7,000 Ukrainian and russian troops died just last week. So I’ll talk to putin. I had a good meeting with Zelensky", - the statement says.

Also, when asked whether the presidents discussed a ceasefire, Trump replied: "No, no. I just wanted to know how he’s doing. He was very nice".
