Minister of Finance of Ukraine Alexander Danylyuk does not exclude the budget sequestration in case of complete failure of cooperation with the IMF. He said this in an interview to Ekonomicheskaya Pravda.

"A failure to obtain external financing aggravates the situation. Then we will have to make very unpopular decisions, budget sequestration and other measures," – said the Minister.

According to him, the government has a baseline scenario - getting the IMF tranche.

"IMF does not only support our programme of reforms. Each tranche of the IMF is a clear signal to investors that changes are taking place and that it is possible to invest in Ukraine," - says the Minister.
