No one will seize housing for failure to pay utility services – Minister

Minister of Justice Pavel Petrenko denied widespread information in the media and social medias that allegedly under the new law, Ukrainians will face confiscation of housing for non-payment of utility services. The Minister said that on a TV programme, according to Interfax-Ukrainewith reference to press service of the Ministry of Justice on August 18th.

"No one will deprive Ukrainians of property for non-payment of utility tariffs. It is another myth," – said Petrenko.

The Minister also stressed that thanks to the subsidy system there will be no issue on non-payment of utilities and, consequently, seizure of property,.

"You can’t seize somebody’s property without a court decision in general. We will remove the issue of non-payment of utility tariffs with the help of subsidies and increasing life of Ukrainians in general," - summed up Petrenko.
